XPO Logistics, a leading provider of freight transportation services, has signed the Diversity Charter in Spain and is committed to respecting the current regulations on equal opportunities and anti-discrimination, as well as the 10 principles on inclusion and diversity of this European charter. XPO's signing of the Spanish Charter thus reinforces the company's core values and its code of business ethics, which constitute the framework for the company's corporate social responsibility policies.

The Diversity Charter is a European charter of principles, promoted by the European Commission and encouraged in Spain by the Fundación para la Diversidad, which thousands of companies sign voluntarily to consolidate their commitment to diversity and inclusion in the workplace. More than 1,350 Spanish companies are already part of the Charter and 12,500 companies have already done so in the rest of the European Union.

Massimo Marsili, managing director – Southern Europe and Morocco, XPO Logistics, said, "it is an honor for us to sign the Diversity Charter in Spain. With this adhesion we underline our commitment to such important aspects for the company as equal opportunities and respect for diversity, a message that we will extend to all our employees, customers and suppliers to help us create even more inclusive work environments".

In an industry in which traditionally men have had a bigger presence, XPO has encouraged the incorporation and consolidation of women in all types of positions, in such a way that at present its workforce in Spain is made up of 31% of women. In addition, XPO invests in the professional growth of employees with individualized career plans so that they can contribute their knowledge and experience to the development of the business. The company also works with specialized suppliers to ensure that employees with disabilities receive appropriate training and support.
