XPO Logistics named to Forbes 100 Best Companies to Work For in Spain list for “putting people first”
Sixth consecutive year for XPO on Forbes ranking, recognizing company’s dedication to continuous training and sustainability
XPO, a leading provider of innovative and sustainable end-to-end logistics solutions across Europe, has been named one of the “100 Best Companies to Work For in Spain in 2024” by Forbes magazine. Honoring XPO with this prestigious award for the sixth year in a row, Forbes cited the company's dedication to investing in people and putting them first, developing programmes to retain and attract talent, and focusing on sustainability.
XPO Logistics stands out for its commitment to develop appropriate and effective professional opportunities for employees. This is evidenced by the 26,300 hours of training the company provided to employees in 2023 in Spain, as well as other initiatives to attract and retain the best professionals in the field, including the XPO “Junior Talent Program”. Launched in 2023, the goal of the initiative is to integrate young talent in the business world by offering scholarships to university students who rotate through different departments of XPO to gain broad view of the company and industry.
XPO currently employs over 1,500 people in Spain, equipping them to meet the challenges of the logistics and transport sector with continuous training and other opportunities to build their professional skills. Since 2020, employees have access to XPO University, a learning programme management system that provides participants with multiple courses, webinars, and interactive digital chats. Additionally, as part of the company’s strong commitment to diversity and inclusion, XPO developed the “Women in Leadership Mentoring Program” to provide women with 12 months of mentorship to enhance their professional development, acquire knowledge and develop specific skills.
Mayte Galeano, Human Resources Director - Southern Europe and Morocco, XPO Logistics, said: " We are proud and honoured to be recognised by Forbes with this award for six years in a row. I would like to thank all XPO employees in the region for their extraordinary efforts. Their dedication to their roles, their desire to learn and become better professionals, and their commitment to sustainability all contributed greatly to our inclusion on the list.”
XPO’s focus on sustainability also contributed to the company’s selection to the 100 Best Companies ranking. Among the many notable sustainability achievements is the electrification of the XPO fleet and the use of renewable HVO fuel. These efforts have reduced emissions by up to 90%, demonstrated the company's commitment to decarbonising its business and helping its customers do the same.
