Providing employees a warm and welcoming work environment, the “Eco 7” site has received "Bâtiments à Energie Positive et Réduction Carbone" (E+C-) official designation at most demanding E4C2 level
Eco 7 is the 5th office development in France to receive E4C2 certification among all those given by French certifiers.
XPO, a leading provider of innovative and sustainable end-to-end logistics solutions across Europe, today inaugurated its new offices in Saint-Rambert-d’Albon, with the site name, Eco 7, chosen by the people who work there. With a long history in the Drôme region in the strategically important Rhône Valley, XPO Logistics has built a new site that meets the highest standards in promoting employee well-being and respect for the environment.
This positive-energy building was designed and built by Novelige, a VINCI Construction subsidiary. It is located in the Axe 7 Business Park and managed by the Porte de DrômArdèche community.

Workplaces that promote well-being
The new building is home to around 300 XPO employees, working in warm, spacious offices that have been designed in harmony with the development of the Axe 7 Business Park. With renewable energy resources, dedicated cycle lanes and car-sharing zones, the park is positioning itself as an attractive, ecological and sustainable hub.
XPO Logistics sought to create warm interiors and a pleasant working environment to promote the well-being of its employees. It includes large, light-permeable openings and a landscaped central island of the building.
To facilitate greater interaction between employees, XPO created relaxation areas with access to the outside on each level of the building. These will allow people to relax during breaks and organise informal meetings. Planted with trees and shrubs, the outdoor area is equipped with wooden furniture, a petanque court and a ping-pong table, with large green areas containing more than 150 species of local trees.
The company is also promoting a healthy lifestyle for its employees by offering twice-weekly exercise classes and installing a shower on site.
Commitment to reducing environmental impact
XPO Logistics is recognised as a leader in sustainable development in the transport and logistics sector. For many years, XPO has been committed to transforming its activities to reduce environmental impact, including by implementing a range of environmentally responsible initiatives, particularly in the sites it owns and operates.
In Eco 7, every material was carefully selected at the design stage for its low carbon footprint and energy efficiency. The superstructure is made entirely of wood, including posts, beams, floors and even walls manufactured off-site.
From the installation of photovoltaic shades on the site’s parking lot, to the recovery of rainwater to water the site's green spaces, the choices made for Eco 7 ensure total energy autonomy. The facility has been named a E4C2 building, the highest level of the "Positive Energy and Carbon Reduction Buildings" designation created in 2018 by the French Ministry of Housing. The company is aiming for Eco 7 to receive BREEAM® Very Good certification.
The site has also maintained its commitment to minimizing its impact on the local environment, and has been awarded the "Gold" level of the Environment Attitude label (VINCI Construction label), notably by:
- Recovering 93% of site waste and reducing noise pollution, including by using wood screws instead of concrete drills.
- Using the INIES** database, which enabled a targeted choice of materials based on their carbon weight to favor options with low environmental impact.
