XPO Logistics, a leading global provider of transportation and logistics solutions, has obtained the Ecocert organic farming certification for five of its temperature-controlled sites in France, including the recently opened logistics warehouse in Sainghin-en-Mélantois (59), close to Lille. The certification confirms that XPO’s operations at the sites comply with Regulation (EC) No 834/2007, which applies to the production stages of organic products, including receipt, storage, order preparation and shipping.
XPO’s newly certified facilities represent a total of over 320,000 cubic meters of surface space, including chilled and frozen storage areas. The operations were validated by Ecocert based on compliance with internal controls and external regulatory requirements. Ecocert is one of the largest organic certification organizations in the world, conducting inspections in over 80 countries.
Bernard Wehbe, managing director, supply chain – France, XPO Logistics, said, “We are proud to obtain this certification, which confirms that our customers’ logistics flows for organic products are safely processed in compliance with the most stringent regulations. Our teams in France manage a secure cold chain across more than 1 million cubic meters of temperature-controlled surface, guaranteeing traceability under optimal conditions.”
