Company is pursuing recruitment and training work-study students, receiving HappyIndex®Trainees designation for the first time for the induction, supporting and managing young talent

XPO, a leading provider of innovative and sustainable end-to-end logistics solutions across Europe, has announced the creation of 180 work-study positions in the company at the start of the 2024 academic year. This initiative is in line with XPO’s commitment to training and integrating promising young talent into its teams, with the number of work-study hires increasing by almost 90% since 2021.

XPO Logistics signed the Diversity Charter in 2021 and, as part of this commitment to diversity and inclusion, the company is recruiting a wide range of candidates, from those with vocational diplomas to post-graduate degrees. By offering opportunities to individuals from diverse backgrounds and supporting their professional development, XPO aims to facilitate the professional integration of young people. Various positions in almost 50 professions throughout France are available, including operator, operations assistant, truck driver, human resources assistant, administrative agent, shipper and sales assistant.

Work-study programs are a major asset in XPO's recruitment strategy, as the company aims to train students so they can go on to secure good jobs. In recognition of this commitment, XPO has been awarded the HappyIndex®Trainees designation by ChooseMyCompany. This independent certification explicitly recognizes the efforts made by the company to promote the personal development of work-study students. Evaluation criteria -- including career progress, work organization, management, motivation, pride and pleasure -- are all assessed through anonymous surveys sent directly to work-study students.

Gaëlle Provensal-Raoux, Human Resources Director – France, XPO Logistics, said: "We are delighted with the HappyIndex®Trainees award, which recognizes XPO Logistics' commitment to preparing tomorrow's talent. We believe that our strong corporate culture and the passion of our teams encourage our students to make a long-term commitment to our business. Welcoming young people to our work-study programs enables us to attract and integrate diverse talent and build a strong pool of candidates in a tight job market.”

Apprentices are invited to take part in tailor-made integration programs that help immerse them in the company. Internal committees identify the most promising candidates for possible recruitment. XPO will also organize special days for work-study students, which will be attended by their tutors as well, which encourage interaction between students and other employees and reinforce the feeling of belonging to the XPO Logistics community.
