XPO, a leading provider of freight transportation services, has expanded its social impact by partnering with three organisations that support the inclusion of vulnerable populations in France. XPO’s commitment of resources to L’Entreprise des Possibles, Energie Jeunes and Télémaque follow the company’s participation in the inclusive Sport dans la Ville Job Forum in September.

Gaëlle Provensal-Raoux, XPO’s human resources director – France, said: “A core conviction of XPO’s culture is that diversity and inclusion are assets for everyone, as well as the responsibility of everyone. We are acting to support underserved individuals and fight discrimination — and we are making it possible for our employees to get involved in concrete ways that are consistent with the values we share.”

To encourage ongoing support by XPO colleagues in France, the company will allow each employee to invest up to four half-days per year in supporting the new partnerships:

L’Entreprise des Possibles is a collective of companies and their employees who work to help the homeless and other vulnerable groups alongside public agencies and associations. The objective of L'Entreprise des Possibles is to mobilize human, financial and real estate resources to amplify work being done in the field. In particular, projects are deployed to house homeless people, to help them access healthcare, hygiene and food aid, and to support their reintegration.

In addition to XPO's financial support, employees can support L'Entreprise des Possibles by donating days of leave, with the monetary value of the donated time paid to the collective and matched by XPO. Employees will also be able to take part in volunteer and skills-sharing programmes.

Energie Jeunes works to reduce educational inequalities that can hinder secondary school students from priority and isolated areas and develops the learning motivations and life skills of over 120,000 pupils each year. Through its Aimer Apprendre au Collège programme, developed with the help of a scientific committee and a teachers' committee, Energie Jeunes triggers psychological changes that help secondary school pupils overcome academic difficulties.

XPO will finance Energie Jeunes interventions and employees can share their skills with the association and directly with the students.

Télémaque promotes equal opportunity in education by supporting young secondary school pupils from modest backgrounds and vulnerable areas. Mentors from the professional world guide them to give them the best chance to realize their potential, through socio-cultural awareness, discovery of the professional world, self-confidence and academic success.

XPO will provide Télémaque with financial support for the development of young people through mentoring. In addition, individual employees can sponsor a young person by committing to a monthly activity paid for by Télémaque, such as a restaurant, sport or cultural activity.
