XPO Logistics opens a new distribution platform near Grenoble
Located in Saint-Égrève, the site expands the logistics company's national network and supports CSR objectives in France, offering palletised distribution and last-mile deliveries
XPO Logistics, a leading provider of innovative and sustainable end-to-end supply chain solutions across Europe, has opened a new palletised distribution platform in Saint-Égrève, on the outskirts of Grenoble. Operational since October 1, 2025, this facility replaces the former site in Fontanil-Cornillon (38), and enhances XPO Logistics' French national network performance with a design focused on punctuality and day-to-day reliability for customers in the region, while meeting sustainability requirements.
An infrastructure optimized for logistics performance
The new site offers 2,770 m² of cross-docking capacity and more than 1,000 m² of office space, with 38 truck docks enabling smooth, segmented management of transport flows. Operations are set up to handle distribution and last-mile activities – an activity that will be operational in February 2026 on this site – in parallel, creating faster cut-overs and more resilient peaks.
This site serves a wide variety of professional customers – specialised retailers, manufacturers, and players in the construction, healthcare, and energy sectors – illustrating XPO Logistics' expertise and ability to adapt its supply chain solutions to each type of flow.
Like the rest of its national palletised distribution network, the site is authorized to transport regulated goods (ADR), guaranteeing the highest level of safety and operational compliance.
Strategically located, close to major transport routes, this site helps bypass metropolitan bottlenecks around Grenoble to improve delivery punctuality and service reliability.
An exemplary site in terms of energy transition
In line with XPO Logistics' environmental commitments, the platform integrates several measures to reduce its impact: low-energy LED lighting, the use of electric trucks in the fleet, and optimized maneuvering areas to reduce waiting times and emissions – a practical approach that balances operational efficiency and environmental responsibility.
Frédéric Aziron, Director of Palletised Distribution and Last Mile – France, XPO Logistics, said: "This new platform reflects XPO Logistics’ commitment to advancing its network toward greater performance, sustainability and customer proximity. By developing modern, responsible facilities across the country, we are strengthening our ability to support our customers in meeting their logistics challenges today and in the future."
With this new site, XPO Logistics consolidates its long-standing presence in Isère and widens the national palletised distribution network that serves customers across France and connects into the broader European footprint.
