XPO Logistics, a leading provider of innovative and sustainable end-to-end logistics solutions across Europe, has expanded its duo-trailer fleet to 22 units, consolidating its position as one of the leading users of these vehicles in Spain. This new milestone reflects the company's continued investment in high-capacity transport as a way to improve operational efficiency and sustainability. The expansion also includes 25 additional mega-trucks, further increasing the load capacity of its fleet.

This expansion responds to the growing demand for high-capacity vehicles that increase productivity and reduce the environmental impact of freight transport. The duo-trailers, with a length of 31.75 meters, 8 axles and a load capacity of up to 46 tons, have proven to be a key solution for improving competitiveness in road transport, reducing CO₂ emissions by up to 30%. Mega-trucks, with a length of 25.25 meters, increase payload by 65% and reduce emissions by up to 20%.

Since taking part in the initial testing phase of these vehicles in collaboration with the Government of Spain, XPO Logistics has become one of the early adopters of duo-trailers and mega-trucks in the country. This long-standing experience has allowed the company to implement high-capacity transport solutions on a broader scale, aligned with national and European goals for more sustainable logistics.

Jorge Rodriguez, Operations Director- Southern Europe and Morocco, XPO Logistics, said: "At XPO Logistics, our priority is to offer more efficient and sustainable logistics solutions to help our customers achieve their goals. With the expansion to 22 duo-trailer units, we are not only increasing our operational capacity, but also continuing our commitment to reduce the carbon footprint of all our logistics operations. This commitment to sustainability remains a key priority in the services we provide to our customers."

The company is already deploying these vehicles on key routes throughout Spain. In particular, duo-trailers are being successfully operated on multiple strategic corridors, including connections to automotive plants and logistics centers, and connecting with the main cross-border points of the Iberian Peninsula, both by road and through ports. The use of duo-trailers not only boosts sustainability, but also improves transport operations. Thanks to their increased loading capacity, these vehicles significantly reduce theof trips required, optimizing efficiency in key sectors such as automotive, retail and manufacturing.

Additionally, XPO Logistics continues to explore new technologies to improve the safety and multimodal integration of its fleet. The company is working on the development of duo-trailers with box-trailer units, which provide greater freight protection, and on the compatibility of these vehicles with rail networks, facilitating their transportation by rail and promoting multimodality.

With this new investment, XPO Logistics continues to support the development of sustainable transport and innovation in the logistics sector in Spain and Europe.
