XPO Logistics, Inc. (NYSE: XPO), a leading provider of freight transportation services, welcomed today around 30 students from the Instituto de Enseñanza Secundaria Alonso de Avellaneda to its last-mile hub in San Fernando de Henares (Madrid).

The students are part of the Dual Professional Training in Transport and Logistics and International Trade programme. They were invited by XPO to get a close look at the business on the occasion of European Logistics Day, with the aim of encouraging young talent to train in the sector.

The site is XPO's largest depot dedicated to last-mile service in Spain and Portugal. During their visit, the students were hosted by Massimo Marsili, XPO’s managing director – Southern Europe and Morocco, who explained the operations of the hub, as well as XPO's innovative last-mile distribution service for bulky products. Some of the young people who toured the hub will complete their internships at the company's facilities.

Massimo Marsili, managing director – Southern Europe and Morocco, XPO Logistics, said: "We welcome this type of initiative as a way to corroborate our commitment to training and talent in the transport and logistics sector — one of XPO's priorities. As a leader in the sector, we believe that we have a responsibility to support the development of vocations in this field and promote the attraction and retention of talent”.
