XPO Logistics, a leading provider of freight transportation services, was featured today as a roundtable participant at the sixth annual Logistics Talent Forum in Barcelona. The event highlighted the importance of communicating a company’s policies on innovation, sustainability and other core values during the recruitment process, and the need to invest in training. Forum organizers presented the findings of the 2021 Study of Logistics Employment and Talent.

During his roundtable participation in The logistics of the future and its impact on employment and work, Massimo Marsili, managing director – Southern Europe and Morocco, XPO Logistics, stated, “If transport and logistics companies want to remain competitive, their human resources teams must have the right skills to manage the evolution of the modern work culture. Digitization is advancing in a very dynamic way and sustainability is being increasingly prioritized.”

Marsili emphasized the importance of training, commenting, “At XPO, we’ve made a large investment in employee training. This has helped ensure job satisfaction, and it benefits our customers as well. Considering the talent shortages facing all service industries, greater cooperation between the education and business sectors is key to attracting young talent, and to retaining talent in-house through professional development.”

Since 2016, the Logistics Talent Forum has brought together more than 50 companies and 2,000 experts from the logistics sector and related organizations each year, with the objective of elevating the sector as an attractive career choice.
