XPO Logistics, a leading global provider of transport and logistics solutions, has been recognized by Familia Torres at the 4th Torres & Earth Awards for committing to a strong business culture of environmental protection.

The Torres & Earth Awards were established by Familia Torres in 2008 to recognize suppliers that show an enduring commitment to the environment. The awards also aim to raise awareness among social and business communities about the importance of reducing CO2 emissions to mitigate climate change.

Miguel A. Torres, president of the Familia Torres winery, said: “The decarbonization of the wine sector and the overall economy is only possible with the involvement of all companies, public administrations and individuals. Fortunately, environmental awareness is growing, but there is still a long way to go. The Torres & Earth Awards are an opportunity to create visibility and distinguish those who are working hard to stop global warming. I would like to thank and congratulate XPO Logistics and the rest of this year’s award winners for their strong environmental commitment.”

Massimo Marsili, managing director, transport – Iberia, XPO Logistics, said, “XPO is extremely proud to be recognized for combatting climate change. We will continue to build on the progress we have made and provide innovative solutions to our customers, delivering their goods in more sustainable ways throughout their supply chains. I urge everyone in our industry to contribute to a greener future for freight transport.”

The Torres & Earth Award is the latest recognition of XPO’s leadership in sustainable business practices through investments in technology and fleet. The company’s facilities use 100% renewable energy in Spain, according to Engie Spain and the National Commission on Markets and Competition (CNMC). In North America, XPO has been named a Green 75 Supply Chain partner for five consecutive years by Inbound Logistics.
