XPO Logistics Supports Workplace Inclusion in France at Salon Handicap Emploi and Achats Responsables
XPO Logistics, a leading global provider of transport and logistics solutions, will participate in the Salon Handicap Emploi & Achats Responsables on May 28, a conference that brings together progressive companies and social innovations. XPO will share booth #E2-04 with Ares, an organization that supports social inclusion in France, to showcase their social joint-venture, Log’ins.
XPO and Ares established Log’ins in 2011 as an employment springboard for differently-abled individuals to help them to achieve a smooth return to work. Drawing on XPO’s expertise, the program trains participants in logistics jobs, such as forklift operation and order preparation, as well as skills that help them succeed in a traditional workplace environment. Through Ares, participants receive individualized social support to help them find housing and financial assistance. Over the last eight years, 77% of differently-abled Log’ins participants have found employment or received additional training toward their goals.
Jacopo Mazzolin, senior vice president, human resources–Europe, XPO Logistics, said, “We strongly believe in inclusion as a core value of XPO Logistics. We all learn from the diversity of perspectives our employees bring to work. XPO is proud to support the Log’ins training program with our expertise, and to foster inclusion through employment in all our operations across the region. Europe is about diversity, and this is the value we promote every day at XPO.”
A strong advocate of diversity and inclusion, XPO has committed support in other countries where it operates. In the UK, XPO supports a number of associations, including Workfit, an organization that connects employers with individuals with Down syndrome. Through Workfit, six young adults with Down syndrome began employment at an XPO site in 2018.
