XPO Logistics shared a progress report on its innovations in environmentally friendly transport activities at two Madrid conferences this week. XPO, a leading global provider of logistics and transport solutions, participated in conferences organized by UNO, the Spanish transport and logistics association, on December 12 th, and by AECOC, the Spanish association of commercial codification, on December 13 th.

At the UNO conference, XPO management spoke about the company’s experience operating 15 mega-trucks in its fleet in Spain. The mega-truck service covers regular routes for both open-circuit customers and closed-circuit customers such as Renault. XPO also uses the mega-trucks to connect its expansive Paleteria network, enabling its customers to realize economic and environmental efficiencies by increasing cargo volume, reducing transport costs and lowering CO2 emissions.

At the AECOC conference, XPO highlighted its innovative CO2 calculator. The company designed the calculator to measure the carbon footprint of shipments for its customers. XPO uses emissions metrics to custom-develop green supply chain strategies for its customers. Since 2010, XPO’s use of the calculator has been instrumental in reducing CO2 emissions by an estimated 70,200 tons.

XPO’s participation in both forums underscores the company’s commitment to sustainable development as a key element of its growth strategy. This aligns with a marketplace where end-consumers want their goods to be transported by methods that are sustainable.
